At age 74, I chose this bass because of the comfort of a shorter neck. The quality of the build is excellent. I upgraded to flatwound strings, that suits my playing style. This bass is not just a beginner instrument; it's a gig-ready axe.

Arrived quickly and is very well made.

Nice little short scale bass. I had it professionally set-up after purchasing it and it plays really well. My daughter loves it and it's a great first bass for her. I wish the amplifier that was sold with it had the same build quality (the amp broke 7 months into ownership, just outside of the 6-month warranty period).

Im surprised of this little guy. Im a small person and it fits great in my hands. It has some rough edges and minor details that need adjustment like the action but nothing out of the ordinary. The gig bag that comes with it is pretty cheap and barely fits the bass. Sound wise I tested it and once the action was fixed sounded clearer, nice tone for chords but nothing too crazy. For the price I guess is great for kids and beginners.

As a woman in my 70's, I bought this kid's bass after seeing several positive reviews where I could see an adult playing it, who said it could be good for older folks. I'm taking a jazz group and decided to replace my u-bass with this. I expect to be happy with it, but want to note several concerns. 1) The screws covering the truss rod cover spin in their holes (I've heard this stripping can happen during manufacture); 2) the strings are quite rough (for a u-bass player) so I looked into flat wo ...

Plus, if I get someone to set it up for me, I'll have put more into it than it cost. (Plus purchase of a padded gigbag) But maybe that's a good deal, who knows?

This bass arrived in less than perfect shape due to a shipping snafu during literally the hottest days of the year! The fingerboard was extremely dry, and the neck was bowed. After a week of allowing the bass to acclimate to its new home, making daily small adjustments to the truss rod, it was brought into decent relief. Daily applications of Neck Honey brought back the fretboard to acceptable condition. I leveled, crowned, and polished the frets. All of this effort was rewarded with a very ea ...

After a week of allowing the bass to acclimate to its new home, making daily small adjustments to the truss rod, it was brought into decent relief. Daily applications of Neck Honey brought back the fretboard to acceptable condition. I leveled, crowned, and polished the frets. All of this effort was rewarded with a very easy playing and fun instrument that is great for a guitar player who occasionally picks up a bass, like me. After the basics of playability had been addressed I decided that it would be nice to have a more gutsy tonal palate on tap, so I added a MusicMan-style humbucker in place of the bridge pickup, coil split wiring, a five-way switch, master volume and separate push-pull tone pits that select caps for different tone coloring. Probably not a project that a novice would want to undertake, but it does provide an example of what can be done with this bass. The basic "bones" are good, materials solid, fit and finish is OK - nothing to complain about at this price point. Good instrument for kids or adults looking for a short scale bass.

1st time Guitar purchaser. I purchased this for my 16 year old grand daughter who wants to learn to play bass. The primary reason for this specific guitar is because she is 4'9" and I felt the smaller style would fit her stature better. She had expressed a desire to find a smaller bass as well... so this seemed like the right choice. I watched several reviews on YouTube of various small bass guitars, and this specific guitar GW101 was used by by a 12 year old young woman with the name EllenPlaysBass and she gave it a very solid review. Neither I or my grand daughter have guitar experience, so this purchase was based more on wants, needs and price for an introduction. It must have been a winner! She got it out of the box and started to play it immediately, and her mother indicates it sounds very good. (I am in another state). She loves the Red color, and says it had no visual imperfections or issues. From order to arrival was less than 5 days.

I am working on some summer projects well away from my studio and struggled finding someone who could lower the bridge and improve the action on the acoustic electric bass available. On a hunch, I bought a whole new guitar hoping the action was better and it is both perfect and adjustable. Easier to play than my full size guitars as the frets are closer together. Sounds great. I'll be buying another one for the other coast soon and maybe a third to stay in the back of the car with the Pig Nose a ...

Nice inexpensive Microscale bass. Neck is satin and smooth. No fret ends poking out. Body is lightly finished with no grain filler or very little. A little rough to the touch. Plays fine out of the box and tuned up. For $100 great for a beginner, little kid or person with smaller hands or stature. For an experienced player like me, it's an $100 body and neck at 25.5" scale with a good balance point for the strap. It uses some standard parts, which means it can take some standard replacements. I did have to get a bridge replacement that had adjustable string space, humcancelling blade style pickups, better strap buttons, the tuners are fine, and a new wiring harness with better components. And string with a set of Ibanez Mikro 5 strings with the highest string left off to make up for the lower tension. None of this is necessary, but I want to, so I am.

When I saw the specs on this bass, I had to buy it, I am glad I did. It has great tone, especially for such a small scale. Once I did a setup on it (file the nut, adjust the bridge, adjust the truss rod, and dressed the fret ends), It plays like butter. There was a little too much hum from the pickups, but once I shielded the cavity on the back, it's dead silent. The Mahogany body, Maple neck, and Rosewood fretboard make for a great bass. If you know how to do a proper setup, this is a great buy ...

My 67 year old fingers can no longer handle a full size bass, this guitar is a pleasure to play. Thanks Glarry

on July 31, 2023

Much better quality than I expected. I did have to do major adjustments for the intonation and had to file the nut slot for the E string, it was much too high. If you know how to make these adjustments, you will have a reasonably playable instrument.

This little bass sounds HUGE. With a decent amp I get great throaty tones that growl when I need them to. there's plenty of bite and punch available when you need it. The build quality is good. The finish looks like it's a stain with a simple waxing done to protect it. This is just how the original high end bases that this one emulates were done. Those with extra large hands will find it a little skinny but still playable at the nut. This bass is designed for the little guys but ultimately it's ...

This bass is designed for the little guys but ultimately it's scale length is the same as a standard electric guitar so really anyone can play it and have fun. For the price this is a crazy good little bass that will impress anyone when it's in the right hands. It may look like a toy but it is definitely NOT a toy. It is well worth the price. https://youtu.be/cyAoh3IjvX8 https://youtu.be/BZs71A8Cr1Y

I have a 13 yr old that wants to learn how to play bass. He's just over 4 ft tall and expressed that the guitars he uses in music class are too big for him. He loves it.

Unique little Jazz Bass -No glossy finish. Easy player. Neck pickup is 11K ohms, Bridge is around 7,k ohms I would suggest putting some nice stings on it.

I think this short scale base guitar is a very good buy at the price. The tools to do the setup (truss rod and saddle) are provided and allowed me to reach a descent playing setup. The fretboard and frets are in good shape... no warping of the fretboard, and no high/low/rough frets. The sound is good coming through my amp (via a good cable I already have). This is another good example of Glarry quality (I also have an electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and now this bass) that I have purchased ove ...

I don't know how you guys can make such a good product for so little money. This guitar is so awesome and fun. I have a full size bass guitar that sits in the corner, because my hands are really too small to play it easily. So, I thought I would check this 3/4 size guitar out. Took it out of the box, tuned it up, and it plays great! Even the string height and intonation was set up almost perfect! The only down side is that now I don't have an excuse not to practice. The bass itself is great. The included strap broke within 5 minutes, the faux leather is very weak. Included strings weren't that great but he's 4 so I don't wanna buy him top of the line strings anyway. The tuning knobs were slightly loose but that was an easy fix. Everything else was fine, we got it in plain wood so we could decorate it and it's now painted and covered with dinosaur stickers:)

I love this guitar! I play a four string guitar as a rule. Not a bass guitar, but a full scale guitar with only four strings.
