This is my first bass guitar, though I have been playing 6 string guitar for almost 60 years.
When I received this I spent a little time setting it up (tuning, adjustment of the string height and so on).
It plays really rather well for such an inexpensive instrument, but I found it really difficult to get used to the neck length after playing guitar for so many years. So, I returned it and bought an Ibanez short scales, which suits me better.

If you are a beginner and have never played a guitar before you might well find this is fine for you.
At the price it's a good quality piece of gear and if I could have got used to the scale length I would have kept it.
It's not a Fender (and it doesn't cost like a Fender) but it's plenty good enough for playing for pleasure and even the odd gig.
